Guacamole
Guacamole one
of the most popular applications for the avocado this is something we cant
ignore, a delicious sauce originated with the Aztecs in Mexico, used in modern Mexican
cuisine and now a part of the American cuisine to, while this is rare in Europe
it remains the most popular way of eating avocados up to this day.
the guacamole recipe based around the avocado is a sauce often served as a dip, condiment of salad
and is traditionally made from avocados, mortar and pestle and some recipes ass
tomato, onions, garlic, chili and yoghurt and of course many other potential
ingredients, this is a sauce that every region has its own version of by now
with some minor alterations on top of the traditional guacamole recipe.
Guacamole has
been around as early as the 16th century and literally translates to
avocado sauce from the native Aztec language.
Here is a
guacamole recipe:
ingredients
3 avocados /
1 shallot / 2 tomatoes / 1 clove of garlic / A splash of olive oil / 1 large
bunch fresh coriander / ½ to 1 lime / Some black pepper / 2 small red spicy
peppers / Sea salt
Preparations:
Spoon the
avocados into a bowl and remove the pits then smash it into a pulp.
Cut the
tomatoes in quarters, remove the seeds and moisture then cut the tomatoes in
tiny pieces, add it to the bowl.
Add the
shallots and crushed garlic to the bowl.
Remove the
seeds from the peppers and cut those in slices, then add some black pepper and
sea salt to add some flavor and add some olive oil to the mix.
Squeeze the
lime but not until the last drop, add it to the bowl.
Chop a
bunch of the coriander with the green part of the stalks and add.
Then stir it
with a fork and add the seeds(for Mexican tradition) to the bowl and your done!
